Griffin's 6th Birthday Party!

Griffin had a super fun Scooby Doo birthday party today!  Here are some fun snapshots of the day....
Griffin helped us get set up--he thought he should carry the kid table downstairs.  :)

The Scooby Doo treat bags that Griffin helped me make.

YUM!

Nonna made these awesome and delicious Scooby Snack cupcakes.  So cute!

Preston sported his Scooby Doo Mud Butt diaper, along with a Scooby Doo shirt.  The only baby size Scooby Doo shirt I could find was a sleeveless PJ shirt, so he showed off his muscles!
All of the kiddos!  It was so fun seeing them all play together.
 Two happy brothers.
Silly faces!  Even Preston stuck out his tongue!!
 FAMILY!

On to the games!  The monster pinata was lots of fun!

Making "dog collars".

Preston was wondering why we had so many kids at our house!

Pin the dog tag on Scooby Doo!

Time to sing to the birthday boy! I cut the ice cream into dog bone shapes with a cookie cutter.  A little messy, but cute.

Preston got tired, so Grandma fed him and rocked him to sleep.

Love!

Presents!  SO MANY PRESENTS!  What a blessed little boy!

Letter to Santa

The other day Griffin asked me to help him write a letter to Santa.  He signed it, then decided he better sign it from Preston, too, since he can't write yet.  Then he added "baby toy" so Santa would know that Preston would like a baby toy.  Then, he flipped the letter over and asked how to write "I was a good boy."  The next day when it was close to the time we get our mail, we put a stamp on the letter and he put on all of his outside gear and waited for our mail carrier, Patty.  She told us she would definitely make sure Santa got his letter.  The next day in the mail, we received a thank you card from Santa--hand written on a hand stamped card!  We love small town living!  :)  Griffin was AMAZED!

Doctor Visit

Griffin's annual physicals always remind me of what a big boy he has become.  It's fun to watch him check out all of the "cool" things that they have in the doctor's office and listen to him respond to questions, and ask some of his own.  Here he is during his eye exam.  The nurse told him he would have to read some things for him and he responded in a surprised tone, "But I can't read yet!"  Then she told him it was just letters, he told her he knew all of those.  :)

Big news! The training wheels are GONE!

On the way home from church one day Griffin said, "I think today is the day that we should take my training wheels off."  We were both shocked because he had no interest in biking without them....so we scurried home and headed out to the driveway before he could change his mind!  Jamie went up and down the driveway with him several times with a towel around Griffin's waist.  He was making progress, but wasn't quite there.  Then, the neighbor kids came over one night and they did it!  They walked alongside Griffin, encouraged him and gave him tips.  In no time he was riding his bike!!  Since then, he has showed EVERYONE that comes over that he can ride.  This includes the milk man, people from church that have dropped of meals, and our mail lady.  We also bring the bike along when we visit ANYONE.  He's already requested a bigger bike for Christmas!

Chris & Annie Tie the Knot

Before the ceremony we thought we'd try to take a family photo...how fitting that we all had a hard time looking at the camera!

Getting Griffin ready for his big job as ring bearer!  Chris and Annie gave him an awesome Ring Bearer badge, he thought that was pretty cool.

Griffin did an awesome job!

 Me with the happy couple!
